<p>Ravenwing136’s blog &#8212; http://hheng.edublogs.org/</p>

<p>wikipedia &#8212; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_principles_and_elements</p>
<p><strong>Now to analysise some </strong>☺</p>
<p>First of all: onemanga.</p>
<p>I think it&#8217;s been set up pretty well, with updates on the home page where you can see them easily. The background is black and the header is colourful, with pictures of anime/manga people on it. Which is good since it&#8217;s a site you read manga off. They have boxes around the text, white on the main text, and a light grey on links to mangas and chapters and they have a selection scrolly thing (below, only smaller and clearer) which helps a lot. Overall, i think it&#8217;s really good, but layout is slightly boring, though.</p>
<p><a href="http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/files/2009/04/untitled.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-31" title="untitled" src="http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/files/2009/04/untitled-300x26.jpg" alt="" width="784" height="68" /></a></p>
<p>Now onto the next one: Ravenwings blog</p>
<p>I like the banner, but maybe its text could be moved just a little bit so that there&#8217;s space between it and the purple lining. the &#8220;about&#8221; text at the front is cute. the layout is nicer than mine T-T (but i&#8217;m daring to be different <img src='http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' /> )</p>
<p>And lastly, i shall analyse wikipedia</p>
<p>The design of Wikipedia is very drab, which, i think, is both a good and bad thing because wikipedia is an informative site, so it would be bad if people couldn&#8217;t read it, but it also makes it hard to read too much. the font and colour of the text is practical. but there is often a lot of scrolling to do without links back to the top of the page.</p>

<p>Well, using complementary colours might not be a good colour scheme because they&#8217;re not easy to look at for too long. <a href="http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/files/2009/03/butterfly.gif"></a></p>
<p>From there it depends on the website you are designing, like less colours for a more businessy look, but be careful, too little colour will look very boring</p>
<p><a href="http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/files/2009/03/starbucks_75.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-23" title="starbucks_75" src="http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/files/2009/03/starbucks_75-300x261.jpg" alt="" width="319" height="271" /></a> example of too little colour.</p>
<p>but also don&#8217;t put in too many colours, it will look hyperactive and garish.</p>
<p><a href="http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/files/2009/03/2advanced_colour_clash.gif"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-27" title="2advanced_colour_clash" src="http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/files/2009/03/2advanced_colour_clash.gif" alt="" width="201" height="71" /></a> in this example, the colours clash and the text is small, the combination of these makes it hard to read.</p>
<p>leave white spaces for text, so that you can read it, and if the rest of the site is colourful, the white will stand out.</p>
<p>Harmonious colours create a nice affect<a href="http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/files/2009/03/butterfly.gif"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-24" title="butterfly" src="http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/files/2009/03/butterfly.gif" alt="" width="173" height="155" /></a></p>
<p>harmonius colours are ones that are close to each other in the colour wheel<a href="http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/files/2009/03/harmony.gif"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-25" title="harmony" src="http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/files/2009/03/harmony.gif" alt="" width="107" height="109" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/files/2009/03/collegeclub_personals.gif"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-26" title="collegeclub_personals" src="http://kthiyaga.edublogs.org/files/2009/03/collegeclub_personals-138x300.gif" alt="" width="138" height="300" /></a>intense colours are good for drawing attention to a particular spot.</p>

<p>Greg Apodaca is a professional photographer and his site is aimed at potential employers so that they can see his work and who he has previosly worked for.<br />
His structure and layout is very professional looking; it has some colour but doesn&#8217;t look gaudy.<br />

Matthew Curry is an artist, his portfolio is aimed at people who might be interested in buying his art. His structre has a big picture of his paintings . layout is arty, but, once again, not gaudy.</p>
